After a long career in the corporate world of LVMH operations in Sydney, Australia and London, UK Debra returned to the creative arts by studying Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martins (2019-2021) and taking up print making in 2024.  Her ceramic work is very much process driven; making her own decorative slips and using metal oxides as well as paper and wax resists and textures via hessian, lace or homemade bisque stamps to create multiple layers in a 3D form.  Each large form is hand built using slabs or coiling techniques in either a grogged white or smooth black stoneware clays.  The form’s surface is the canvas to create the design, usually starting with either white porcelain or black slip and layering up colour, textures and shapes which are either overlapped, hidden and then revealed in different layers.
